What. A. Weekend...♥

When I've had such an amazing long weekend like I have it only feels right to share it all on here. I had four days off and so many plans and I can honestly say it's going to be hard to top it. So where do I start?...

Thursday

Okay, so I was in work (and had already been treated to a little pressie from my work girls) but when the clock struck 5pm I was officially 'on holiday' and what better way to start that then pre-celebrating my birthday eating lots of yummy Greek food with some of my family. We went to Mykonos in Oakwood, a super cute little Greek restaurant, and it was absolutely superb. I had halloumi to start and mixed souvlaki for the main, washed down with one (or two) glasses of pinot it made for a perfect evening.

Friday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! On Friday I turned 29 and, after a cuppa and a bit of wallowing, I opened my presents. I am so lucky to have such amazing family and friends and to receive so many wonderful presents including my new beautiful Lost Ink shoes, a gorgeous Kate Spade bangle and my wonderful husband to be bought me my amazing Katie Loxton bucket bag. Along with lots of wine, chocolates and some Lush bath bombs I had been spoiled rotten. Once the presents and cards had been opened it was time to head down (well sideways) to Bury for my friends wedding, and what a great wedding it was. We ate, drank, danced and laughed so much and she was even kind enough to pop a present on my table too. All in all a pretty superb birthday.

Saturday

Today was the day Phil & I had a little date day and celebrated my birthday together. Hangover food was needed so we went to GRUBMCR at Alphabet Brewing Co, as it was the last time the street food festival would be hosted there we were in for a treat with the traders. We started off with an heir of the dog ordering a Charlie Don't Surf wheat beer and a side of poutine. Being a Northern girl I should have chips, cheese and gravy running through my veins but I've never been a fan - The Gravy Train completely changed my mind. We ordered The Buffalo and it was devoured in seconds. Next up, after a little break we tried another beer, this time the A to the K and teamed this with The BarnHouse Bistro burger and the best parmesan fries I've ever tasted. Stuffed to the brim we headed home for a quick nap (well me!) and to say a prayer for Leeds United, which unfortunately did not work. Freshened up we headed out for more food, this time it was Red's True Barbecue in Leeds. I'm not quite sure how we fit any more food in us but somehow we did, and it was amazing. Too full to move we watched the Joshua/Klitschko fight, had another quick pint then headed home.

Sunday

Today was the day my beautiful nephew Alfie was to be christened so we got ourselves up and suited and booted, I put my heels on for the fourth time and we made our way to the church. It was such a lovely service and myself and Phil were honoured to be asked to be his godparents. If you have read any of my previous blog posts you will know that Alfie is a massive part of my life, he is the cutest little boy and I have the greatest pleasure to call him my nephew. Throughout the service he giggled, even when the water was poured on him and he kept on smiling for all the pictures after. No family do would be complete without the after party, cue lots of buffet food, wine and what can only be described as the best playlist ever (made by yours truly)! Throw in a trip to the casino after and ending the night eating chicken kebabs and watching Take Me Out on our sofa it was safe to say a chillout Bank Holiday Monday was much needed.

And there you have it; the busiest, funniest and bestest (I know not a word but it works) weekend I've had. My bank balance is lighter and my body weight heavier but it was completely worth it.

How did you all spend your long weekends?
