404 Days To Go...♥

When we first went to see our wedding venue it was 2nd July 2016 and we were two weeks into our engagement, now with a little over a year to go we went to see our venue again and it was just as beautiful as the first time. A year sounds like such a long time but we know it'll fly by so we're lucky that we have a lot of the 'main things' set. Most of our suppliers were there this weekend so it was nice to catch up with them and also meet new potential ones and get some ideas. With that in mind I feel it's time to share some of the wonderful people we'll be working with to make our special day that extra more special...

Venue
East Riddlesden Hall

We always knew we wanted a venue with a bit of a vintage vibe and when we first went to see this converted barn with it's twinkling fairy lights, rustic feel and extra large dance floor we knew this would be the place where we would say 'I Do'. When we looked round they were setting up a wedding which was due to take place later that day, I saw lanterns, bunting and pretty lace chair covers and said straight away to Phil 'This is the one'. When we found out they only had one Saturday left in June 2018, which is when we wanted to get married, we booked it there and then. As we've still got a way to go we haven't had much experience with the wedding team yet however everyone we have dealt with so far has been amazing and so helpful. I can't wait to work with them soon and get our venue looking as beautiful as I know it can be.

Lighting
Typical Type

We stumbled across this lovely company in the brochure for ERH. They do amazing vintage style lighting, we are lucky enough to be having the hanging edison, the LOVE letters and the festoons around the lake.

Florist
Stems Design

We first bumped into Lynn and her amazing floral arrangements at the ERH wedding fair when I laid eyes on the most amazing blossom tree I've ever seen. As soon as I saw who it belonged to and it was accompanied by pretty floral archways and wooden centrepieces I knew this was the lady who would be my florist. Since then I have met with Lynne and our ideas are in sync, right down to the colour scheme. I can't wait to start picking the flowers for the day but for now I'll leave you with these images of her amazing work.

Wedding Cake

Burgoyne's Cupcakes

Cakes are so expensive but also the thing that needs to be perfect - we are so lucky that my best friend and bridesmaid's sister Amanda has offered her assistance. When we mentioned what sort of cake we want she jumped at the chance as she really wanted to do this style. I have had her cupcakes before at my sister's baby shower and they are amazing so I know she is going to do it justice.

Stationary

Raspberry Toast

Again, we met Cath at the wedding fair and we were drawn to her quirky designs and original ideas. It's sad to say but I am very excited by stationary, remember when you used to go stationary shopping before the first day back at school? That used to be one of my favourite days. I loved getting shiny new pencils, pretty new gel pens and a pencil case of dreams. When I realised Cath loved stationary too I knew we'd get along, after a few emails and lots of editing we now have our invitations ready to be proofed. I can't wait for the day they arrive so I can share them with you.

Photographer
Something Blue
Weddings

Just go and look at Robbie's photography and you will see why he is going to be perfect for our big day - his photos are so light and airy and will fit our venue perfectly. Expect some serous spamming when we do our engagement shoot with him.

Caterers
Hog & Apple

Anyone who knows me will know if you give me anything cheese and chorizo related I am happy, so when I was given what can only be described as a panini of heaven by Ged at Hog & Apple we had our caterers. After being sent the menu ideas we wanted it all. Think sharing boards, silver service bbq, hog roasts and street food and that's what we're looking at; food to really get stuck in to. As a couple we're not really a 'three course meal' kinda guys, give me a burger or a burrito any day. I literally cannot wait to start sampling some of the delicious food these guys offer, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Styling
Simply Vintage Events

Once we start having more colours and themes set in place we are going to be working with Rachel to get the barn looking exactly how we want it. As my dad keeps
describing it it's going to be a 'hippie wedding' - I think he means boho. We're thinking lace, lanterns, candles, wooden logs, distressed crates, bunting and lots and lots of fairy lights.

These are just the start of our plans to making our wedding perfect for us. I am so excited to become Mrs Rotherforth - I have already 'said yes to the dress' (that's something that won't be pictured on here before though) and we have ideas for suits, decorations, music and games with the help of pinterest, wedding magazines and another brilliant ERH wedding fair this weekend.

What would you guys recommend for the perfect wedding day?
