Britney, Baby One More Time...♥

Anyone who knows me will know I am a little bit in love with Britney Spears, like to the point that I cried when I found out she wasn’t going to be in Vegas when we were going on holiday there. I have always had a soft spot for Britney since a young age, I think you were always a Britney or Christina girl and don’t get me wrong I love a bit of ‘Genie In A Bottle’ but Britney just edges it for me.

Ever since I saw that music video for 'Baby One More Time' and then subsequently counted all the pennies in my piggy bank so I could go get some pink fluffy bobbles from Claire’s Accessories I knew that many of my fashion choices (sometimes fails, sometimes not) would be largely based on Britney’s wardrobe.

I absolutely love Britney’s confidence and how she can rock any outfit, I mean who could forget the JT & double denim combo or the VMA’s alternative wedding dress with Madonna. I’m planning on having a ‘Britney night’ on my hen do (bagsy Bald Britney) and re-live all her infamous outfits including the red leather suit, the Toxic air hostess and of course, the schoolgirl.

Growing up in the nineties meant I lived some of the more interesting fashion trends that have existed; skirts over trousers, pedal pushers, butterfly hair clips, the list is endless. However, some of the lucky ones are making a comeback: choker necklaces, metallic makeup, jelly sandals and the one made famous by Britney herself – crop tops.

I have spent endless hours in the gym craving the Britney stomach and she really is the queen of the crop top. Whether worn with low rise jeans, leather pants or a denim skirt she always looked amazing. To this day I’ll always have a bit of Britney in my wardrobe, over the years she’s inspired me to be confident and to always be myself, and in the judgmental world we currently live in I think that’s a pretty decent thing to have done.
